Pour one down for my iPhone…  *sniffle*

———————————————————————-

Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satan’s spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
the day my iPhone died

He was singing,
“bye-bye, miss american pie.”
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
And singin, “this’ll be the day that I die.
“this’ll be the day that I die.”

I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I’d used the iPhone months before,
But the man there said the iPhone wouldn’t play.

And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
the day my iPhone died.

1 Corinthians 13:1If I could speak all the languages of earth and of angels, but didn’t love others, I would only be a noisy gong or a clanging cymbal”

Thought #1:  I love you.

Thought #2:  I gotta have more cowbell.

* A man of few words, not.

At times I’m quiet, but those times, sadly, are becoming more and more infrequent.

A good friend of mine shot me an email, and prefaced it warning about how long the email was going to be, and that I could take my time responding (almost a challenge don’t you think).  Anyway, I tried to tactfully and thoughtfully respond to this friend’s email.  Afterwards I read through and sent my reply.  It wasn’t until I saw my reply  in sent form that I realized how much of a novel I had just written.

Friend’s email: 932 words, my reply: 2245 words….

So from here on out, I casually invite you to tell me to shut up when I ramble.

Didn’t get a chance to wish many of you a Happy Easter, so here it is, Happy Easter ;-)

On this day, 2000 years ago, Jesus saved my life.

First photowalk w/ some of the Riv’Crew.  This pic was by far Di’s favorite, she “might even want to get it printed.”  (*grin*)

See the whole set here.

It sounded like everyone had a good time so I think there will be more of these to come.  If you missed out and you might enjoy something like this leave a comment and I will try to shoot you an email for the next one.

* Why I love Jesus

Posted on April 4th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Updates.

One of the Pastor’s at my Church recently posted this on his blog…  Its totally worth the quick read, titled “Why I love Jesus.”

Cliff notes version:

Noel viewed an online video, which I did not (I don’t have the stomach for it), that was shot filming a 17 year old muslim girl accused of adultry, being publicly flogged while her brother held her down for the beating….  Noel then contrasts this response which is not unique in the Muslim world to the response Jesus gave in a very similar situation (John 8:1-11).

Billie Mayes now has a reality tv show on Discovery called Pitchmen.  I for one, think that is hilarious.
