* Joys of dog ownership

Posted on March 19th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Family & Friends.

Came home from life group to a huge pile in the dining room where Roxie had yacked what I thought was all of her dinner.  Di and I cleaned it all up and headed up to bed only to find another such pile and a half in the walk way upstairs.

Gross.

I came downstairs to eat and head off to work this morning only to find she had diariah and was puking bile downstairs while we slept.

Gross.

So my house is practically out of paper towel, and I am staying home from work to take my dog to the vet and most-likely rent a steam cleaner for my unfortunately off white carpet.  If only I could train her to stay on the linoleum  when she feels sick :-p

Wake # 1….check
Wake # 2….check
Funeral…….check

What a week.  I can’t remember a time when I have spent this little amount of time on a computer during a week.  Feels good to get back in the zone.

Di is doing great, bummed to have lost GP but happy his struggles are over.

Di’s Grandpa passed away this morning.  He had been dealing with sliding health for a while now, had a heart attack on Friday and passed this morning.

Bummer.  But at least he has a bigger audience for his poems now :-)

If any of you are in the market for a monitor click the pic and head on over to buy.com to give this one a once over.  It is the same monitor I use @ work and I really like it.  For 170 I’d consider it a steal.

* Color me nostalgic

It is supposed to warm up hardcore this weekend, in fact this trek to warmness has already started and it feels GREAT.  I hear there is plenty of rain on the way to compliment the warmth, and with great changes in temp + rain generally = thunder storms.

Thunder storms represent some of the best memories I have of my Grandpa.  Not that I don’t have lots of great memories of him, but the times I spent on his back porch watching the storms roll in and hit are absolutely priceless to me now.  For about the last week or so I have found myself jonesing hard core to enjoy a good t-storm with gramps again…

Its amazing to me just how good we had it as kids…  Growing older seems a tragedy when you consider the simplicity of life that is lost.

This is pretty funny. Cliff notes, he spends a couple minutes about how unthankful our generation is for how COOL of a time of the world it is.

Engadget article

Have any of you ever shopped in home video surveillance? I’ve looked very briefly but when this came across my feed reader to day it snagged my attention back to the subject again. It is a system that can support up to 50 wireless cameras that all feed back and can be viewed securely online if you are gone. One thing I need to check is if you can set it to record if motion activated (ie gone on vacation and your neighbor decides they need your TV more than you do).

Just curious if any of you have looked into this kind of thing.
