I posted to soon…  My cold has came raging back with a vengance this morning.  And so far even the heavier hitting drugs aren’t helping.  I’m just going to curl up in a corner under my desk and cry myself to sleep.  So long cruel world.

So I’m about 95% healed up from my cold.  Over the winter I think I only heal to 95% anyway because my sinuses tend to just suck all winter even if I’m not sick.

Which leads me to my next point, I’m feeling quite talkitive today.  We are installing our new ESXI server today, thats right, we are FINALLY going virtual on some of our servers.  Unfortunately we don’t have the budget to bring up a datacenter big enough to handle very many servers, but we are starting small and virtualizing a handful because it is far more cost effective to build one beastly server and toss half a dozen boxes on it instead of buying new boxes every time we bring up a new service.

1. Copy & Paste – awesome
2. Camera – there is a little box with the picture you just took in the lower left, tap it and it takes you to the photo section.  This makes me happy, I wouldn’t have called it a frustration before but this is nice.
3. Voice memo – kinda neat, something you could probably do on other phones for a long time…  This is not something I have paid much attention to in the past, but what I realli like about this is I can email seamlessly email that recording
4. No video recording app….yet….
5. MMS, I could be an idiot, but I’m not seeing it.  Engadget is saying the holdup is AT&T not Apple at this point.
6. Landscape mode keyboard in most applications, FINALLY

That is my quick and dirty on the beta.  Thanks to Noel for tossing it on his blog, which allowed me to scamper over to Single Grain fast enough to get it

I’m feeling like an uber geek having a Beta OS on my primary phone…

Canon released their update to the Rebel XSI today, well more they actually made it official.  It is a 15 mega pixel DSLR that shoots 1080p video as well.  Downside?  Doesn’t ship till May   I was hoping that they where going to ship alot sooner than that as there would be one headed to my place.  I guess I have another month to study up on it and think it through.  Who knows maybe I’ll have to spring for the Mark II instead :-p

I’ve been thinking about getting a tat for a long long time.  I would obviously be checking some sources to make sure the Google English to Hebrew translator isn’t lying

I have no clue where I want a tattoo, but I like that idea.  Jeremy Mason, one of the guys that leads worship at Riverview, wrote a song which hits me really hard, and that phrase is a huge part of that song for me.

Up next, a 1997 KTM 250 EXC.  Just needs a clutch cable, seal for the cable, and have to tap a new oil over flow.  I’m hoping to snag a bit from that which will put me in the market I want to be in for upgrading my photo artillery.

I’d sell some of my computer geek stuff, but that kind of junk isn’t worth anything except to the geek who’s closet it is cluttering up.  Might make the wife happy to be rid of it though   I would consider parting with the guitars but I’m no where near close to giving up on that dream yet.  On second thought I do have a trombone, anyone need a trombone?

So I think I have the 50th cold of the year.  It started in on me towards the end of the week, in part thanks to Smitty….  And in fairness, I fought it pretty hard….  But I think standing outside with Roxie waiting for RivRunners to start really kicked my butt.

I love my family, I love my friends, but I do not belong in this state…

This guy (Chase Jarvis) takes better photos with his freaking iPhone than I ever will with my photo gear.  Some people are good, some people are so good you just want to punch them in the face.  Lucky for me, I’m a pansy and thus won’t punch someone in the face 1. because it is not nice and 2. because I would end up getting my face beat into the curb.

But in all fairness he is one of the best in the game.

I snagged Pete’s 50mm f1.8 @ the pancake dinner tonight and started playing with it.  I tossed a couple up on flickr, not many keepers considering I was just playing and trying to spend more time meeting and talking with people than messing with my camera….  Which I probably failed at, but hey I did meet some cool new people, including Carin (hope I spelled that right).   And Carin let me just say you probably get the most comments on you blog of any non pro blogger I’ve ever seen.  With some poking around I found her photography site, I love meeting photogs, and I love it more when they put their work online
