* Lansing Photowalk

Posted on February 28th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Photos.

So, Jimbo and I headed up to Lansing for the Lansing Flickr Group photowalk, and um, well, we had a timeline and couldn’t wait for the group to start shooting so we busted out on our own…which defeats the purpose of a group photowalk, but we had a great time anyway.

You can check out my shots on my photostream, and here is a link to Jim’s photostream.

* FINALLY!

Posted on February 26th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Uncategorized.

I’ve been beating my head against an imaging problem with an image I just created for System Center Deployment @ work. All of the other images worked fine except for the one I just put up. And I’ve been fighting this for what feels like forever. I went through line by line to see what on Earth I was screwing up.

The image copied up a recovery partition that I deleted in the partition section of the task sequence. Well, even though I deleted that partition, I DIDN’t notice that the task sequence automatically included a subsection to apply that partition anyway, and when it was hitting that portion of the task sequence it was locking because there was no partition to image to.

Simple to explain but good grief that took to long to figure out, and I feel like an idiot now that I found it.

I’ve had the Compact Fluorescent talk with tons of people that we like the idea, but the light really sucks.  Perhaps this guide will help any of you in the market for cfl bulbs.

* Microphone makes iPods that much cooler

Posted on February 24th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Geek Stuff.

I think this is awesome!  I don’t exactly have a use for it, but I think the idea of using an ipod as a digital audio recorder is very cool.  Its a tiny microphone that plugs into iPods and gives them the ability to record audio.  Best thing yet they are only like 15 bucks.

Mini microphone spruces up voice recording possibilities on iPhone / iPods – Engadget.

* Paczki Day

Posted on February 24th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Uncategorized.

I’m dyin. I love donuts, which in turn means I TOTALLY love Paczki’s… Today is a rough day considering I”m trying to lead a slightly healthier life, and therefore a Paczki isn’t the greatest idea.

Sigh. Pour one down for the Paczki that never was.

@BetsyWebber posted on Twitter thatthe GRFlickr group is doing a Lansing photo walk on Saturday in Lansing.  They are meeting @ Biggby on Allegan @ noon’ish.

I’m goin.  They may expect that because I’m around here I will know where to go or what to shoot, but I don’t.  I’m going to learn, I’m going to get out of my house and shake off the winter dull drums, and I’m going cuz I need to participate in some of these photo walks so that my photo walks will be more fruitfull in the future.

So, I’d love to see you guys there!  Shoot me an email or a comment if you think you can make it.

* Switch

Posted on February 18th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Updates, Work.

This is a switch…  I’m a young guy, I love music but try to keep my music to myself for the most part.

The switch?

I just had to close my door because my boss has bad 80′s hair metal blairing so loud that I couldn’t hear what I was listening to.  Yes I work in an office like atmosphere, yes I think this is odd.  BUT, he’s getting his work done, I’m getting my work done, and he isn’t in my office giving me more work, so who am I to complain :-)

* A call to men

Posted on February 18th, 2009 by mdl. Filed under Uncategorized.

This is a sermon from Driscoll’s “A study of man from Genesis 1,2,3

Guys, listen to this…its going to take a while, but it is very good.  If you don’t hear advice for yourself you either didn’t hear the same audio I did, or you at least know a guy who you have influence over who NEEDS to hear this.  Ladies, feel free to give this a listen if you choose, your men may need a hand becoming what Mark is talking about.  I wouldn’t share this if I didn’t think it was worth it.
