I’m test driving a Dell netbook for work.  Not 100% sure what I think of it yet.   The keyboard is smallish, feels smaller than comparable net book keyboards.  The boot time is awesome (16gb ssd), downside only 5.5 gb free on a stock xp install + windows updates…  I can’t stop changing the zoom level  on the web browser.

Web speed, acceptable.  The hardest thing to deal with is the difference in the physical size.  The thing doesn’t fit on your lap, like a laptop…  It wiggles when you type, seriously, it wiggles.  More later, first impressions?  Not entirely terrible.

Never thought I would be excited about the start of a television series, but work has been so nuts…that I will take joy in simple pleasures as such.  Its sad I’ve resolved to being that lame.

Bummer.

Black Ties Photo delivered our first wedding photos last night. Our client was very happy, and spoke of some friends who where checking our stuff out for weddings coming up. If anything at all, shooting some senior photos and weddings will help afford this hobby

“Malibu’s Most Wanted” has pretty much solidified my bad opinion of “brainstorming.” Everytime something bad would happen, this guy’s political team would break out into a brainstorming session… When someone asks me to brainstorm I can’t help but wonder what it is they really want. Do they REALLY want to drum up creative ideas, for me to tell them what they already know, or just tell them what to do so they don’t have to think…

Just thinking about “brainstorming” gave me a headache.

No I will not just do this one thing for you. No you cannot just have a minute of my time. Yes you are interrupting. No your request is not more important than what I was just working on. No your lack of planning is not my problem. Yes you are as incompetent with computers as you think you are. No I will not give you admin rights. Yes I am very busy. Yes you should have put in a work order weeks ago. No this is not your new computer, and no I don’t choose who gets them…NO I cannot talk to your boss for you about getting a new computer. Yes I can install some printers for you, no I will not give you a local printer. No I do not know how to use your cutting edge “your industry only” application, I just pulled it out of the box and installed it, until 10 minutes ago I never knew this even existed, no I cannot train you how to use it. NO I did not break your computer, yes this is the new system. Yes you have to change your password now, no I do not make the rules. YES the password must have a number in it, NO I DO NOT MAKE THE RULES. No I did not have a nice summer, I was here while you where on a beach. No I don’t like listening to you complain about having to be back to work.

Some days my tongue ends up pretty raw. I don’t just like Fridays, I NEED Fridays.

Well, I’ve taken my photo geekery to a new level.  With much prodding from a friend of mine, I’m in a joint venture photography company.  We are shooting a wedding this weekend and shot two senior portrait rounds last week.

Its fun, we’ll see where it goes.  I doubt I’ll ever be paying bills with it, but I really love shooting and interacting with fun people.  So here goes nothing right?
