1 Corinthians 1:18-25 ESV

18 For the word of the cross is folly to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God. 19 For it is written, I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the discernment of the discerning I will thwart.
20 Where is the one who is wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the debater of this age? Has not God made foolish the wisdom of the world? 21 For since, in the wisdom of God, the world did not know God through wisdom, it pleased God through the folly of what we preach to save those who believe. 22 For Jews demand signs and Greeks seek wisdom, 23 but we preach Christ crucified, a stumbling block to Jews and folly to Gentiles, 24 but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. 25 For the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

So my website has been long ignored. I just don’t post on it the way I should, although I really want to…I just don’t.

Do I keep the blog, or just swap this out for a photoblog to chronicle my 365 project on flickr?

A dollar saved

I canceled my cable yesterday. The company called me back today and offered me a couple packages to keep me a customer. One of which was keeping my current internet for $35 a month…. I’m super stoked about this, because that is pretty much EXACTLY what I was willing to pay… Its great internet service, very speedy, I was bummed that I was going to be losing it. BUT now I get to keep it, and I get to save the cash that was paying for cable TV that I didn’t watch.

Canon 7d

Canon released a new monster on the dslr market. The 7d replaces the 50d which according to some wasn’t the greatest in the world, citing some focus issues and the like. But I do have a friend in the photo community using the 50d and has grown to love it, despite some hesitations at first. The 7d has a bunch of new goodies in it. If I’m not mistaken it has a new focus engine as well as 2 digic 4 processors. The 2 processors is what totally blows my mind. That is better than my 5d mk II, and the 7d is a “lower” level camera (as far as Canon’s pecking order).

I’ve had some complaints about poor focus ability of the 5d mk II even in what I would consider decent light. I was shooting side by side w/ an XSi and the XSi was focusing and making the shots my mk II could not focus in and grab successfully. I’m very curious to paw through some more reviews about this camera vs its competitors. I recently had it out with a Nikon snob online, so its nice to see Canon drop a few more bombs onto the playing field.

Time to go read a head to head on the 7d vs the mk II.

Di calls w/ a flat tire (or at least dangerously low) right after leaving LCC. I ask her to stop trying to drive to a gas station, pull over and just wait for me to get there. I run home, fill the air compressor and toss it in the back of my car (brilliant), drive to LCC fill the tire, all is well she drives home happy. I drove home to snag some lunch, unload the air compressor from my car (not brilliant), jacked my back up. Pulling that thing out was a very awkward lift… Bummer.

So. My brother got some rough stuff dropped on him last night.

The hard part is he is 13 hours away at school, meaning I can’t just pick up and go hang out with him for a couple days…you know do the dude thing, eat cold pizza and pop @ 3am playing video games till our eyes fall out.

But I can’t. Coach put me on the sideline for this part of the game… *sigh*
