Pour one down for my iPhone… *sniffle*
———————————————————————-
Oh, and as I watched him on the stage
My hands were clenched in fists of rage.
No angel born in hell
Could break that satan’s spell.
And as the flames climbed high into the night
To light the sacrificial rite,
I saw satan laughing with delight
the day my iPhone died
He was singing,
“bye-bye, miss american pie.”
Drove my chevy to the levee,
But the levee was dry.
Them good old boys were drinkin whiskey and rye
And singin, “this’ll be the day that I die.
“this’ll be the day that I die.”
I met a girl who sang the blues
And I asked her for some happy news,
But she just smiled and turned away.
I went down to the sacred store
Where I’d used the iPhone months before,
But the man there said the iPhone wouldn’t play.
And in the streets: the children screamed,
The lovers cried, and the poets dreamed.
But not a word was spoken;
The church bells all were broken.
And the three men I admire most:
The father, son, and the holy ghost,
They caught the last train for the coast
the day my iPhone died.

* April fools

I hate cruel jokes.
Someone called one of my co-workers and told her that her dad fell down the stairs and was unconscious…. April fools…. Cruel and uncalled for.
The facilities manager calls me first thing in the morning and leaves a message saying that Consumers had a huge problem during the night and needs to shut us down at noon for an hour to take care of the issue. (My heart STOPPED)…. April fools… Funny, not so cruel.
So as you are messing with gullible people (like me) today, don’t be a jerk.

So I’m about 95% healed up from my cold. Over the winter I think I only heal to 95% anyway because my sinuses tend to just suck all winter even if I’m not sick.
Which leads me to my next point, I’m feeling quite talkitive today. We are installing our new ESXI server today, thats right, we are FINALLY going virtual on some of our servers. Unfortunately we don’t have the budget to bring up a datacenter big enough to handle very many servers, but we are starting small and virtualizing a handful because it is far more cost effective to build one beastly server and toss half a dozen boxes on it instead of buying new boxes every time we bring up a new service.
Here’s to today! Cheers!

This is pretty funny. Cliff notes, he spends a couple minutes about how unthankful our generation is for how COOL of a time of the world it is.

Have any of you ever shopped in home video surveillance? I’ve looked very briefly but when this came across my feed reader to day it snagged my attention back to the subject again. It is a system that can support up to 50 wireless cameras that all feed back and can be viewed securely online if you are gone. One thing I need to check is if you can set it to record if motion activated (ie gone on vacation and your neighbor decides they need your TV more than you do).
Just curious if any of you have looked into this kind of thing.
