Shelby is reporting that they are going that they are going to go into production on the world’s fastest car in the fourth quarter.  I’m not the kind of guy that gets totally blown away by top speeds or 0-60 numbers…  But what did catch my attention was the 150-220 mile per charge battery, and the claim that it will recharge in 10 minutes from a 220 socket.

My brother in law told me about this last night, and I wrote it off as being way to good to be true.  This morning when I logged in it was at the top of my feed reader, so I figured even if it is to good to be true it sure is pretty to look at :-p

your suspicions are valid. 220v breakers and outlets only go up to about 60 amps, so a 10 minute charge would only gain 10 amp hours. that’s on par with a $15 lantern battery.

Good data… I didn’t even think of it that way, I was looking at it as how fast a battery can accept a quality charge, trickle charge vs fast charge etc.

At least I was right about something today! I’ll take a small victory.
