* Sigh, hang head, whimper.

1. The stone is not gone.
2. Some of the side issues I’m facing is due to the pain meds they gave me. So now I have to limit / refrain if possible, the only pain med that was helping.
3. I’ve missed a ton of work, and have a note from my doc saying I can’t go back yet.
4. I’m missing a party I was really looking forward to.
I left the gory details out, because, well, no one really wants to hear that. I have a kidney stone from hell teaching me a lesson in patience. I don’t know how well I am learning from its lesson though. People tell me, you must not drink enough water. Nonsense, I drink tons of water. People ask if I drink a ton of caffeine? Nope, maybe, MAYBE a cup of coffee in the morning and 2-3 pops a week…hardly excessive. I told someone while waiting in line at the pharmacy, she immediately asked if I was scolded and told to get my diet in order. I don’t eat that bad folks, seriously.
I’m losing my chipper attitude in a hurry.

Buck up there, Cowboy. In the spirit of helping, I asked Di to tell you that us guys are willing to punch you in the gut a whole bunch to try and break up the stone.
I thought too much calcium was the cause of kidney stones. Psh, does a body good my butt.

No one seems to want to blame this on a high calcium diet, they would rather blame it on to much caffeine or not enough water. I seriously am at a loss. I just think my body hates me.

Praying for you, seriously…
My dad has really bad kidney stone problems as well, he drinks A LOT of water, that’s supposed to help the stones pass faster. He also cut out food like spinach, nuts, and coffee (sorry), do you happen to like any of those things? They do build up excess calcium in your body.
Hope you feel better soon

Drywall has calcium in it. Have you been eating a lot of drywall? That might have done it.

@Pete: To quote a movie not out yet, Marley the Worlds Worst Dog: “He ate the drywall, thats just not right…”
@Yi: I don’t think I drink caffeine excessively, and I generally do drink plenty of water. Who knows, the doc says they should be able to test the stone to get an idea what caused it.
