So, last night I dropped my phone and now the vibrate setting doesn’t work.  It made a weird sound like it was trying to spin but there was metal on metal instead of the right “vibrate” sound.

Sooo  I carefully took my phone apart to inspect to see if this was something I could just bend back or fix somehow.  I was mostly proud of getting the stupid thing apart…  But the weight that spins for the vibrating action is not spinning right, the spindle that spins it is spinning free instead of turning the weight.  And there are ribbon cables that are secured to the case with no slack that attach to the electric motor which spins the weight, so getting it out of there to try and fix this predicament is going to take some doing.

I stiched the phone back together and turned off the vibrate function all togehter, so now when I set it to vibrate it is just silent (boo).

My plan….

I think if I dab some JB weld on the tip and on the end of the weight, I think I can secure the spindle to the weight so it can’t spin free anymore.  BBUUUTTTT all of my JB weld is @ work, so this is project for tomorrow night.

Instead, I will wallow in misery that did something to my phone which would require work.
