Nah, there were regulations in place that people where turning a blind eye to because “everyone deserves to own a home.”

I believe I heard that on CNBC.

Also, aren’t people saying that much of our current problems stem not from existing regulations being thrown out the window but through deregulation in the 90′s, there was no oversight?

That’s just what I have heard mentioned a few times. I don’t have the background to really understand what is going on so I don’t know if there is any validity to it.

I think your math is wrong there pal. According to my calculations:

700,000,000,000 / 756,399,858 (Chinese population over 30, est) = $925 per person.

Because it’s not like it’s OUR money at work here
