* Sigh, hang head, whimper.

1.  The stone is not gone.

2.  Some of the side issues I’m facing is due to the pain meds they gave me.  So now I have to limit / refrain if possible, the only pain med that was helping.

3.  I’ve missed a ton of work, and have a note from my doc saying I can’t go back yet.

4.  I’m missing a party I was really looking forward to.

I left the gory details out, because, well, no one really wants to hear that.  I have a kidney stone from hell teaching me a lesson in patience.  I don’t know how well I am learning from its lesson though.  People tell me, you must not drink enough water.  Nonsense, I drink tons of water.  People ask if I drink a ton of caffeine?  Nope, maybe, MAYBE a cup of coffee in the morning and 2-3 pops a week…hardly excessive. I told someone while waiting in line at the pharmacy, she immediately asked if I was scolded and told to get my diet in order.  I don’t eat that bad folks, seriously.

I’m losing my chipper attitude in a hurry.

* Nevermind

So I might not be out of the woods yet.  I do think the kindey stone is gone, but there is something else wrong….  And to pile it on, hospital opperators are not kind at 2 am.

* Perhaps

I think I might have had victory over the small stone of hate…  Around 4 today I had two little things pass and felt mostly better but was still really cramped up.  And about 10 minutes ago another little red thing came out.  I think it busted apart when it hit my bladder.  Regardless, I’m not taking any chances till I feel 100% better…  So hopefully by tomorrow morning I will feel like a new man.

Thanks for the prayers, you guys are awesome.

* Update

I quite possibly have the best friends a guy could ask for, and considering how awesome all of you are, I figured you deserved an update.

As of Monday 1:45, the score is Kidney Stone: 2 Mike: 0.  I am awarding the kidney stone 2 points considering its persistence since Saturday night.  On the up side, my gut hurts in a slightly different spot, so this is me hoping that this means the stone is moving.

I’m trying to decide which is the biggest reason I want this over with: anticipation that the next step is the worst, or having no real desire to drink more water (over 3 gallons in 24 hours).  Now, 3 gallons is achievable if it is super hot, and you are being very active…  But it is not hot, and I am not being terribly active.  Oh well, I’m still sunny side up boys and girls, so I guess that is all that matters right?

* Health

I’m pretty anxious for this week to get rolling.  This morning I have an ultrasound to get a looksee at my Gall Bladder, and Wednesday I get to talk to my family doc to see what the heck is going on with me.  That is a positive, the negative is my blood pressure was high again during the whole ordeal last week…  Not good.

So you can imagine my angst to get this week over with.

* Piggy bank robbery

So the bill is in for Diana’s next semester of school.  Should we snag a student loan and worry about paying the piper at a later date?  Or should I snag some cash from an account that was not intended for that use…

I’m torn between my stand on no debt, and my stand on only using cash for what it was purposed.  So, I ask you.  Some of you are walking down the same road as Diana and I in this, some of you are about to, and some of you have already walked through it.

This is one of those things that I can give a convincing argument in both directions therefor I’m left sitting on the top of the fence which isn’t terribly comfy by any stretch of the imagination.

* Friends

Amazing how dinner with some friends can make time stop…  Diana and I had the pleasure of hanging out with Alan and Tina this evening, and you know, those are two cool cats.  We have hung out and had dinner many times before, but each time I enjoy it a little more.

There is something theraputic about hanging out with friends.  So, all of you friends who put up with me, thank you for all of your awesomeness :-)

This has quickly become one of my favorite spots on earth.  Seriously, I love this place.

* Deer camp

I think this is something like 6 straight years of Deer Camp @ Whiskey Creek for the Lilly guys, not sure on the number though, there was some debate to that on the bow trip a couple weeks ago.  I am very excited to go sit in the woods for a while.  I’m just hoping for good weather…  A deer would be a plus, but there is nothing that adds insult to injury than bad weather to make hunting miserable.

Is dis da Lilly deer camp,
Yah aye.
